Instagram started out as an app you can post your favorite selfies on, but now it has evolved into so much more. Ever since Facebook bought instagram for 1 million, it has been flying off the charts for new users and activity, and doesn’t look like it is going anywhere anytime soon (reference to Myspace).
Many people use Instagram for many different reasons now. Companies use it for marketing, others use it as a personal photo blog of their life, while most just use it to look at other people’s photos. Any way you decide to use Instagram, here are 5 hacks that will make your user experience better and wish you would have known a long time ago.
If you want to reference a photo you liked a week ago, but is buried away from new uploads, this is a perfect feature to use. All you have to do is go to your profile:
click ‘Options’
then click ‘Posts You’ve Liked’.
It’s that easy.
You can also use this to unlike any posts you’ve ever liked (like Ex bf/gf).
Lots of people follow others to get more followers. Well, if you are one of those, the people you actually like get lost in the people you don’t really care about.
There is a way to get notifications from your favorite people, so you can seem them right away. To turn on the notifications on a specific account:
Go to the users profile
Click the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner
Click ‘Turn on Post Notifications’ in the menu
We all have been scrolling through Instagram and accidentally double tapped and liked a photo we didn’t mean to. Well now you can scroll through your feed worry free.
When you load Instagram, let the photos load, and then turn your phone on Airplane Mode. This allows you to not like any photos when scrolling. When you need to load more, simply turn Airplane Mode off and repeat process.
It is easy to see what you have liked and your comments, but not your an see your friends also.
View activity of friends by:
Click the heart icon at the bottom of the screen
Then click the tab that says ‘Following’
We love this feature on Facebook, and now Instagram has the option also.
Hide tagged photos by
Go to your profile
Click the 3 dots in the top right corner
Click Hide Photos
Select which photos you want to hide
