For varied reasons, some marketers simply want to make new things time after time. Some would want to make changes on their logo title, or even create new tagline. Sometimes, some would even add some decorative icons, or perhaps even develop new brand name for the company. Others would go beyond, creating new brand just so because they are having new products. However, the reality is, out of the box thinking or creativity isn’t necessary in terms of your business’ brand identity. You should know that brand consistency will always be the secret to ultimate success. Being consistent with your brand will make it most effective.

Why Brand Consistency is Important

–          To avoid much confusion: The last thing you would want is to confuse your customers. As an owner of a small business, you can make it easier for your potential customers to remember you business by being consistent with your brand and how you actually present yourself to them. Customers take notice about certain elements, but they cannot always remember all details.

–          Customers trust things that they truly know: The above mentioned example basically highlights the basic kind of confusion that can actually cost you your sales. But often it’s more understated than that. Each time a customer hears about your company name or views your logo, it easily gets registered in the memory. The stronger the memory or even connection to the brand, the more chances of them buying from your brand. Customers, more often than not, choose the brands which are more familiar to them, because these brands seem established, known, and therefore can be trusted.

–          It makes sense – increasing your returns:  Usually, business owners and online marketers make their identity very inconsistent without even noticing it. An example would be: one business owner decides to use the service of an online development company for their website and another company for the printed works, without having end products essentially coordinated. In such example, you have paid for entirely different projects but instead of having those works compounding the brand of your company and building it exponentially, you may actually end up having poorly matched or unmatched marketing tools.

There are lots of ways to ensure that you won’t fall into brand inconsistency. Well, you should ensure that before you start your own business you have a good brand identity and brand strategy. These two factors should be based upon the insight of the customers. You should also consider thinking way beyond your identify system and brand’s architecture carefully.

Additionally, you need to anticipate the possibilities of new products, services, media, and any other applications that may be created. So, always have some room for improvements. If changes and improvements really are necessary, remember that minimal changes are more effective than extensive transformations. If you really want to establish a solid brand, you should consider the different essential factors that can help you attain better brand consistency. Upon graduation, with little money and a ton of risk, Danny took his project and put his degree into action by starting his own website design business. With little direction, he began to learn the ins and outs of running a website development and marketing agency through trial and error. To start, Dsquared Media resided in a tiny 210 square foot office space located in Delray Beach, Florida that was barely room enough for employees to work. As time progressed, so did Danny’s knowledge on maintaining and running a successful business based on progressive marketing strategies. Currently, Dsquared Media employs 12 media professionals and is located in a space over 7 times larger than the tiny office in Delray. Danny attributes his success to a keen eye for intelligent design and an inspiration to live according to his passions.
