Interface Design UI/UX

Why does interface design matter for website development? Because the interface design is how your website visitors interact with your company. Visitors need a sense of place within the vast amount of information available on most websites. Interface design gives them that sense of place. Potential or current clients need to be able to find the information they are looking for quickly and easily. Strong interface design allows for the quick access of information. If visitors to your site cannot find the information they need in a short amount of time, they will move on and give their business to someone else. User-friendly, intuitive interface design is an absolutely indispensable part of website development.
The first part of interface design is deciding what pattern will allow the best result for your website domain. Human beings love patterns. Our brains are wired to find and to follow patterns. custom wordpress themes In terms of website interface design, patterns are the structural and behavioral features that make websites more functional and accessible for the users of your website. There are many common patterns used in website development; however, the pattern used for your website cannot be a format where information is simply plugged in. Consistency across your material is vital for user understanding. The development of the pattern of your user interface is the first barrier to overcome when creating a website design.
Once your overall pattern for the website is determined, there are several other considerations that go into good interface design.

  • Organization: How should your information be organized in context? What information is important up front, and what information might be less useful and therefore relegated to outer pages of the site? Will users be able to find the information they need in as few clicks as possible?
  • Navigation: Is your website easily navigated? Does it keep things simple for the user through the use of menus or bars or other organization navigation devices? Can users move quickly from one part of the site and back without problems?
  • Communication of Data: Is the information and the data on the website communicated clearly in such a way that unfamiliar users can understand and use the data as needed? Is written text (copywriting) easy to read and helpful for the user?
  • User Input and Actions: What does the visitor need to accomplish on your site? What information do you need in order to best serve your users? Are actions easy to complete, or will one mistake cause the user to start over again?

These are all important questions to consider when developing a website interface design. In the end, you want a creatively designed website that empowers your users while keeping things simple and productive. An experienced company like DSquared Media can help you answer all of these questions and more about user interfaces when developing a website specific for your business needs.
