Tips for Building a Good Client Business Relationship

When you are in a business relationship whether you are the client or the designer/developer, there are certain elements you have to take into consideration.
When you have a business that deals with communicating with clients, it is extremely vital to have a positive relationship with your clients. At Dsquared, we thrive on our relationship with our clients. Here are some ways to help create that relationship any business would want with its clients.

Communication

Communication is key. We should keep our clients in the loop and our clients should keep us in the loop. This will help any campaign run a lot smoother. Time is money, so if we could prevent a problem from occurring simply through communication, we will do it. The more you express what you want out of our designers/developers the more we will be able to make your visions into a reality.

Create a Stress-Free Environment

When servicing the client like creating their custom website, we understand that it can become quite stressful for both the client as well as the designers/developers. We try to minimize the stress as best as possible. Both opinions matter and we try to find a ground level whenever possible. Communication is important when minimizing stress. You must effectively communicate with the clients and designers.
It is best not to assume what someone wants when designing. It is always best to ask questions. The questions may seem like a lot, but the more you ask the more information you will know. Here are some tips for better communication with the client.

  • We love creating personal touches and graphics for the site. However, knowing what is going to be expected from the beginning of the project is always less stressful
  • Don’t assume we know what’s in your head. Giving us free rein is not always a good thing. We love guidance.
  • Keeping emails down to a minimum helps everyone stay organized. We understand that there will be many revisions that go into creating your site. Having one organized email with revisions is better than 10 separate emails with one revision in each.
  • We understand that things come up and life gets busy. It’s always nice to inform your web designer of any event hiccups that come up so that way we aren’t blowing up your phone every day.
